10 Questions to Ask Before You Buy a Used Car

8- How did you arrive at this price?

If you have asked all the above questions and are seriously considering buying the car, find out how the seller priced it. Many people simply pull a figure out of the air. If the seller claims to have used a price guide, you can check if the price is correct.

9- Can I take the car to a mechanic to have it checked?

Once again, ask this question only if you are serious about buying. Most reputable sellers will not resist this request. If there is hesitation or resistance, it is a warning sign.

10- Do you have the title in hand?

A veteran owner may not know where the title is hidden. Or the seller may not have the title if there is a loan outstanding from the bank. There are ways to avoid these problems, but knowing the status of the title in advance will help you decide if the car is worth the extra time and trouble.
